Public Service Academy begins 2013 training programme
Public Officers to be equipped for citizen centric Public Service
As part of its thrust to equip public officers to meet the emerging challenges of a changing public service, the Public Service Academy of the Ministry of Public Administration of (MPA) began its 2013 training calendar on January 8, 2013.
All courses conducted by the Academy this year are intended to better equip public officers with skills that can significantly enhance and improve their ability to better deliver services to the public.
Minister of Public Administration the Honourable Carolyn Seepersad Bachan indicated: “The courses are crucial foundation steps to filling some of the gaps that exist in our human resource capacity. We are working to create a 21st century, performance driven, citizen centric Public Service. Well trained, effective public officers are critical in that thrust.”
Among the courses that are to be held this year include Protocol for Public Officers, Fundamentals of Public Procurement, Competency-Based interviewing Skills and Managing People Through Change.
